Toronto ALPHA will be presenting at the York Region District School Board & Community and Cultural Services Asian organized South Asian Heritage Month Resource Fair on Wednesday April 28, 2010 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
This resource fair aims at providing York Region District School Board staff with a wide spectrum of resources related to Asian and South Asian Culture in addition to support services for students and families of Asian and South Asian heritage.

On September 27, 2009, Canada ALPHA Educational Fund (CAEF) joined the ScotiaBank Waterfront Marathon/Half Marathon/5K Walk as one of the Fundraising challenge Teams. A team formed of ALPHA volunteers have helped raise fund for CAEF to support our education initiatives. Photos (link)

GLOBAL ALLIANCE 2008 BIENNIAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
¡°Education & Teaching: The History of World War II in Asia¡±
Toronto ALPHA hosted the Global Alliance 8th Biennial Conference on Friday October 31 to Sunday November 2, 2008 at the Yee Hong Center in Scarborough. The theme of this year¡¯s conference is Education & Teaching: The History of World War II in Asia. The conference included keynote speakers and panel discussions with renowned educators in the field.
The Global Alliance for Preserving the History of WWII in Asia (GA) is a non-profit, non-partisan worldwide federation of over 40 grassroots organizations. Founded in 1994, its mission is to preserve the historical truth of the Asia-Pacific War (1931-1945). For only through historical truth can we secure justice for victims, safeguard humanity from repeating past mistakes, and bring about genuine reconciliation and lasting peace among all peoples. The Global Alliance invites all people of goodwill to join in this Endeavour in the spirit of the Golden Rule. More information about GA can be found at http://www.global-alliance.net.

Education Forum at the Medical Building of U of T for teachers and high school students
Panel speakers include 2 ¡®comfort women¡¯ survivors from China and the Philippines, Dai Sil Kim, director and writer of ¡°Silence Broken¡± and Attorney Kang Jian from China together with ALPHA representatives Dr. Joseph Wong, Thekla Lit and Flora Chong. Over 200 teachers and high school students attended the forum.
